SERIOUS CRASH GENERIC

DOVER, DE - The Dover Police Department says they are investigating a serious crash that left one woman in critical condition last night. 

According to police, first responders were dispatched on reports of a crash on Persimmon Tree Lane on October 24th around 5:30 p.m. There, police found two cars with heavy front damage. 

The ensuing investigation reportedly revealed a Hyundai Santa Fe was driving east on Persimmon Tree Lane at the same time a Jeep Cherokee was driving west. Police say the Jeep Cherokee crossed into the eastbound lane for unknown reasons, causing a head on collision. 

A 46-year-old Dover woman driving the Hyundai was reportedly airlifted to a New Castle County hospital for treatment. Police say she remains in critical condition.

The driver of the Jeep, an 83-year-old man from Dover, was taken to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
