2 Arrested Following Spree of Burglaries in Frankford

FRANKFORD, Del. - Delaware State Police said two people are facing charges after multiple burglaries that happened this week.

DSP investigated a total of four burglaries that took place at homes on Roxana Road and Jones Road, starting Monday, May 20 and ending on Friday, May 24.

Police said the suspects were able to get into various structures, like sheds, barns and trailers, before taking off with several items.

DSP said they were able to identify a green GMC pick-up truck with Maryland tags as the car involved in the burglaries. From there, they were able to identify two people as suspects: 35-year-old Andrew T. Benson of Bishopville, MD, and 30-year-old Tonsha McCray of Frankford.

State police said they were able to find the car traveling on the 35,000 block of Pepper Road on Friday. Both people were arrested without incident. The follow-up investigation confirmed their involvement in the burglaries and that some of the stolen items had been pawned.

Police also learned that Benson was accompanied by McCray's 6-year-old son during one of the incidents.

Both Benson and McCray are facing several theft and burglary-related charges. They were both arraigned and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on secured bail.
