Dead Body Found in O.C. In October Ruled A Suicide

OCEAN CITY, MD - The case involving a dead body found on the beach in Ocean City last fall is now closed. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of Maryland is ruling the cause of death of a 76 year old Ocean City man as a suicide. Detectives assigned to the Major Crimes Unit were able to positively identify the man and determined there was no evidence of a criminal event during their portion of the investigation. 

The body was found just after 7:00 a.m. in the surf off of 14th St. on Oct. 27, 2020 while Public Work crews were surveying the beach due to the oil spill in Delaware.

Detectives of the Ocean City Police Department, Criminal Investigation Division - Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation. The body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
