FBI Offers $10,000 Reward for Information on Salisbury Cold Case

BRIDGEVILLE, Del.- Delaware State Police are investigating a homicide-suicide that happened late Thursday night.

Police say around 10:45 p.m. troopers were called to the 100 block of Emily's Pintail Dr. reports of a shooting.

Before police arrived, they learned that the homeowners, a 71-year-old man and his wife had returned to their home around 9:30 p.m. The woman was in the first floor bathroom when she heard footsteps on the second floor, where her 58-year-old brother lives. After hearing the footsteps, the woman then heard a loud bang.  According to police, when she left the bathroom, she found her husband had been shot in the family room. She then ran to her neighbors house and called the police.

When police arrived they searched the home and found the 58-year-old suspect dead in his bedroom from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. 

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

The bodies have been turned over to the Division of Forensic Science where an autopsy will be performed to determine the manner and cause of death.

The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is continuing their investigation into this suspected murder/suicide incident and there is no concerns for public safety. No motive has been established for this incident.
