Free Dental Care Services at a Public Library in Western Sussex County

LAUREL, De. - THE dentist's OFFICE ISN'T THE ONLY PLACE where YOU CAN GO TO GET YOUR TEETH CHECKED OUT. A LIBRARY IN WESTERN Sussex COUNTY OFFERED DENTAL CARE SERVICES TO its COMMUNITY MEMBERS on Wednesday.

TODAY AT THE LAUREL PUBLIC LIBRARY IS WHERE dentists TREATED YOUNG AND ADULT PATIENTS. THE BUREAU OF ORAL HEALTH AND DENTAL SERVICES IS PARTNERING WITH Delaware LIBRARIES TO MAKE IT EASIER AND FUN FOR PEOPLE TO GET THEIR CHECKUPS.

PATIENT, Olivia Taylor, SAYS IT WAS A VERY COOL EXPERIENCE. "think it's pretty cool they actually came to give patients a chance to get their teeth done. I think that's pretty amazing. there are some people out there who can't get to the dentist. SI think them coming here is pretty amazing," says Taylor.

ONCE young patients GOT THEIR TEETH SQUEAKY CLEAN, the DENTIST READ THEM STORIES AND GAVE THEM GOODIE BAGS with DENTAL CARE ITEMS INSIDE. THE library's YOUTH SERVICES LIBRARIAN, Stacy LANE,  SAYS THIS WAS THE PERFECT WAY TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY.

"It's just something that we wanted to offer free for the community. We know that dental health is something that's, not only very important, but it's also something that kind of gets left to the wayside. When you know funds are an issue or anything like that. So it's something we wanted to offer to our Laurel patrons and the community in general," says Lane.

CLEARLY, THE LAUREL PUBLIC LIBRARY IS MORE THAN JUST BOOKS AND MANY OTHER PATIENTS SAY THEY LEFT WITH A SMILE. THE YOUTH Services LIBRARIAN SAYS THEY ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO DOING THIS EVENT AGAIN. FOR UPCOMING DETAILS ON THEIR NEXT DENTAL CARE EVENT, CHECK OUT THE LAUREL PUBLIC LIBRARIES Facebook PAGE.

CHILDREN AND ADULT PATIENTS ARE WELCOMED.
