BOWERS BEACH, Del.- Delaware State Police have released the names of a man and woman found dead in a suspected murder-suicide that happened in a parking lot in Bowers Beach.
The investigation began shortly after 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, when troopers were dispatched to the parking lot area off of Cooper Avenue in Bowers Beach.
According to police, 55-year-old Kenneth J. Bowers and his wife, 40-year-old Lysandra C. Bowers, of Frederica, Del., were both pronounced dead at the scene from apparent gunshot wounds. A handgun was recovered from the scene, investigators said.
The bodies have been turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science where an autopsy will be performed to determine the manner and cause of death.
The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is continuing its investigation into this suspected murder/suicide incident and there is no concerns for public safety at this time, troopers said.
