Dorchester County Woman Sentenced to Life in Prison

CAMBRIDGE, Md.- A judge sentenced a Dorchester County woman to life in prison for shooting a man earlier this year.

Judge Brett Wilson sentenced 40-year-old Lasonya Corrine Sargent, of Cambridge, after she was found guilty of shooting 35-year-old Sharod Mack at his home on Wood Duck Drive in Cambridge on Jan. 30, 2018.

Sargent was sentenced to life in prison for first-degree murder and an additional 20 years for use of a firearm during the commission of a felony or a violent crime. Sargent was convicted on Aug. 24 by a Dorchester County Circuit Court jury.
