SALISBURY, Md.-There were record breaking numbers of home appliances donated in just one week at WBOC and Sherwood Automotive's latest Rising Tide event benefiting Habitat for Humanity.

The event took place June 22-23 in Wicomico County, Maryland and Sussex County, Delaware. The ReStore warehouses are packed full of donations of all kinds. There were lamps, microwaves, refrigerators, stoves, doors, and more.

Habitat for Humanity partnered with Sherwood Automotive to encourage donations from the community to help families in need.

"We just want to say thank you to everyone," said Katie Maxwell, marketing manager at Sherwood automotive. "It's amazing how everyone comes out."

Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Molly Hilligoss, in Wicomico County, says, "Everything that was donated here we resell to the public and then that money goes back out to the community in the form of affordable housing."

Kevin Gilmore, executive director of Sussex County Habitat for Humanity, says, "The Rising Tide event was just phenomenal. If you look around, we have all these donations piled up in the ReStore warehouses and we are trying to get them on the floor."

Worcester County is in the process of opening its very own ReStore warehouse as well.
