Jordan's Boat Competes At Day 3 Of The White Marlin Open

OCEAN CITY, MD - The Michael Jordan owned Catch 23 joined the competition of the 46th annual White Marlin Open on Wednesday. It appears it was non-productive effort. Those aboard the 80 foot yacht did not bring a fish to the scales at the Harbor Island Marina. According to the White Marlin Open website, the Catch 23 did not report any catches for the day. The Catch 23 was one of 120 boats that competed on Day 3 of the event.  A much smaller number from the record 389 that went out on Monday.  It produced a slow day at the scales. Between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. only three boats attempted to qualify fish that caught.

One of those three was the Turn Me Loose. They had a blue marlin on board.  However, it did not meet the minimum 114 inches required to qualify. "I’ve been fishing this tournament for over 20 years,"  the angler Ollie Powell said. "(It's the) first big blue marlin I’ve brought to the dock. I was hoping he was the right one."

Two days remain for the 2019 White Marlin and because the Catch 23 did not fish on Monday or Tuesday, it is eligible to compete in Days 4 and / or Day 5.
