OCEAN CITY, Md.- Ocean City police are investigating the death of a man who fell to his death from a third-floor balcony at a 29th Street hotel.Ā
Police said that shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday, July 12, officers responded to the area of 29thĀ Street and Baltimore Avenue to assist Ocean City EMS after 22-year-old Caleb McCurdy, of Ocean City, had fallen from a third-story balcony.
Officers and Ocean City EMS initiated medical treatment upon arrival. McCurdy was flown to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center by Maryland State Police Trooper 4 where he was later pronounced deceased.
Police said the preliminary investigation leads them to believe that the incident was accidental. However, the cause and manner of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in BaltimoreĀ in the coming days.
