SALISBURY, Md.- Authorities say a man suffered smoke inhalation as a result of an early Sunday morning house fire in Salisbury.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said it happened shortly after 5 a.m. at a one-story single family home located at 904 Vincent St.
The Salisbury Fire Department responded to the fire and got it under under control in less than half an hour.
The fire caused an estimated $30,000 in damage to the structure and another $10,000 in damage to its contents.
An occupant of the home was transported to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury where he was treated and later released for smoke inhalation.
Deputy state fire marshals ruled the fire accidental after determining it started in the living room due to hot ash from smoking materials igniting combustible materials.
