Report: Pennsylvania Must do More to Help Chesapeake Bay

STEVENSVILLE, Md.- The Maryland Transportation Authority said Friday that eastbound motorists approaching the Chesapeake Bay Bridge should prepare to merge at Oceanic Drive (Exit 32) on US 50. The merged two lanes tie directly into the two lanes on the eastbound bridge.

The MDTA said the eastbound bridge's left lane is closed, unless the bridge is operating two-way (contraflow) on the westbound bridge. When two-way is in effect, the left lane will be open to tie into the one contraflow lane on the westbound bridge.

Weather and traffic volumes permitting, the MDTA will implement two-way traffic operations to help alleviate eastbound delays at the Bay Bridge.
