SALISBURY, Md.- Thousands from over 26 states showed up to downtown Salisbury for the city's second ever marathon event on Saturday.
Runners were able to choose between running either a full marathon, half marathon, or a 5K.
Runners had family and friends cheering each other on as they were crossing the finish line to beat the clock.
Although runners got to enjoy the fun run, business owners in the area also benefited from the races.
Owner of Barefoot Kids, Martha Ogburn, said it was a good day to be open. Ogburn said she saw nearly double the number customers thanks to her marathon-themed gear.
City administrator Julia Glanz says over 100 volunteers helped with the event.
Racers who were able to complete the run in record time will have a chance to compete in the Boston Marathon on April 15.
Runners and businesses say they'll be back for another Salisbury marathon event.
