Salisbury Man Goes to Prison for Attempted Murder and Assault

Jean Concile

SALISBURY, Md.- A Salisbury man has been sentenced to a decade behind bars for attempted murder and assault following his conviction by a Wicomico County Circuit Court jury.

Jean Concile, 26, was sentenced to a total of 40 years imprisonment, with 10 years active incarceration in the Maryland Division of Corrections. Upon release, Concile will serve five years of supervised probation.

Concile’s sentence imposed was within the range recommended by the Maryland sentencing guidelines. Immediately prior to his sentencing, Concile entered guilty pleas to one count of Attempted Second-Degree Murder involving one victim and one count of first-degree assault involving a second victim.

Prosecutors said that in the early morning hours of Dec. 15, 2019, Concile became involved in a dispute with the former boyfriend of Concile’s current girlfriend at a party held on South Westover Road in Salisbury. Concile then walked to his home a short distance away, obtained a handgun and returned to confront the man.

Concile fired one shot, missing him. Concile then fired a second shot which struck a second victim, a woman, in the side. The female victim was subsequently treated for her injury at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional and then released.
