Updated: West Ocean City Fire Damages Four Homes; Two Firefighters Injured

WEST OCEAN CITY, Md.- The Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office is continuing to investigate an early Tuesday morning fire that damaged four homes and left two Ocean City firefighters injured. 

It happened shortly before 2 a.m. at a single family home and adjacent outbuilding located located at 12849 Harbor Road. Firefighters from Berlin, Ocean City, and Ocean Pines responded to the blaze and remained on the scene for more than five hours.

Three nearby homes also sustained fire damage.  There is no word yet on the monetary extent of the damage. 

Additionally, two firefighters suffered injuries with one to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional for burn injuries to his legs. The other firefighter sustained injuries from a fall.  

The County Fire Marshal’s office was assisted by the Ocean City Fire Marshal’s Office and a Maryland State Fire Marshal K-9 accelerant unit. The investigation is ongoing and no cause of the has been determined yet.
