VIENNA, Md.- A portion of Rt. 50 in Dorchester County is expected to close next week for roadwork.
The Maryland Department of Transportation says repaving of Rt. 50 between Rhodesdale Vienna Road (Rt. 331) and west of Old Ocean Gateway, which includes four ramps, will start September 25th. MDOT says the two-mile-long project is expected to be finished by mid-December, weather permitting.
Crews are expected to work weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting on westbound Rt. 50 and then move eastbound, officials say.
Drivers can expect to see single-lane closures during the project.
The State Highway Administration’s contractor, George and Lynch of Dover, will use arrow boards, cones, and flaggers to guide drivers through the work zone. Drivers should expect major traffic impacts with significant delays during work hours.
