SALISBURY, MD - The City of Salisbury has sworn in a new leader in public service.
On Monday, December 18th, Rob Frampton officially became Salisbury’s acting Fire Chief after a swearing in ceremony at Salisbury’s City Council chambers. He previously served as Assistant Fire Chief and the Acting Deputy Chief before officially assuming the role.
Frampton is a 24-year veteran of the Salisbury Fire Department and will now serve as the Department’s 24th Fire Chief. Frampton was previously chosen as a member of Leadership Maryland’s Class of 2023 and was the only participant from a fire service agency chosen, according to the City of Salisbury.
During the ceremony, Chief Frampton said he wants to hit the ground running in his new position by increasing man-power and eventually expanding the Salisbury Fire Department with added vehicles and another station.
“Most importantly is the Fire Station on the North End,” Frampton said Monday. “We do need some ambulances that we’ll need in a couple years. And then a couple fire engines as well.
Frampton replaces John Tull, who was recently named the Deputy City Administrator.
