SALISBURY, MD– Salisbury University announced an expanded partnership with the Japan Study Abroad Foundation – with plans to bring more international students to the Eastern Shore.
The agreement follows a 25-year partnership with Aoyama Gakuin University and Aomori University, opening SU's campus to students from 50 Japanese colleges and universities.
Officials expect 10 visiting students in the first two years – contributing approximately $258,680 annually. The program's total economic impact is estimated at $4 billion or more.
SU President Dr. Carolyn Ringer Lepre and Gov. Wes Moore traveled to Tokyo for a signing ceremony Sunday, representing the program's first partner in Maryland.
