SUSSEX COUNTY, DE - A Georgetown man was arrested after a high-speed pursuit through multiple jurisdictions on Monday.

On July 8th, at approximately 2:50am, an officer from the Laurel Police Department initiated a traffic stop near Sussex Highway and Georgetown Road. The officer observed a vehicle traveling at speeds exceeding 100mph in a 55mph zone and attempted to pull the vehicle over. Instead of stopping, the driver accelerated in an effort to evade the officer, prompting a pursuit.

The pursuit continued eastbound from Sussex Highway onto smaller, two-lane roads, with the vehicle maintaining speeds over 100mph. During the pursuit, the officer reported seeing the vehicle turn off its lights and commit multiple serious traffic violations, including running stop signs and disregarding lanes. The officer discontinued the pursuit as the vehicle headed towards Georgetown.

Shortly after, a Georgetown Police Department officer spotted the vehicle speeding on Seashore Highway and attempted another traffic stop, which the vehicle again ignored. The officer decided not to pursue due to safety concerns.

The vehicle was eventually found on Old Furnace Road in Seaford after efforts from Laurel PD, Georgetown PD, Bridgeville PD, and Delaware State Police, including aerial support from the Delaware State Police Helicopter. The vehicle was successfully stopped and the driver was taken into custody without further incident.

Laurel Police Department identified the driver as 25-year-old Isa T Davis of Georgetown, Delaware.

Davis was transported to the Laurel Police Department and charged with the following:

-Disregarding Police Officer Signal

- Resisting Arrest

- Reckless Driving

- Multiple additional traffic violations

He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7 and released on his own recognizance.
