BRIDGEVILLE, DE - The Delaware State Police arrested three Maryland men for felony gun charges in Sussex County on Wednesday.
The Delaware State Police say on April 9th, just before 10:00pm, troopers responded to McDonald's at 18733 Sussex Highway for the report of individuals in a white car allegedly waving firearms at patrons.
DSP troopers located the vehicle in the parking lot with three males associated with the vehicle. When troopers arrived, one of the men walked away from the location. Troopers retraced the path he had taken and found "a loaded firearm with an extended magazine hidden between parked vehicles". With assistance from the Bridgeville Police Department, law enforcement searched the area and apprehended a 17-year-old from Cambridge, Maryland after a foot pursuit. The teen "physically resisted arrest and was ultimately taken into custody."
The front passenger of the vehicle, a 17-year-old from Delmar, Maryland attempted to flee on foot. DSP say after resisting police, he was arrested. According to police, they found a loaded firearm in the suspect's waistband. He also initially provided a false date of birth and name.
The rear passenger in the Mazda, identified by DSP as 36-year-old Dion Garner of Preston, Maryland, was arrested without incident. Police found a loaded firearm in a bag on the floor of the car, near Garner's seat. During a computer check, DSP found that the firearm was stolen from a jurisdiction of the New Kensington Police Department in Pennsylvania. An additional search found that Garner had active warrants for his arrest, and was a convicted felon, prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.
Dion Garner was charged with the following and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $52,500 secured bond.

The 17-year-old from Cambridge, Maryland was charged with the following and committed to Stevenson House Detention Center on a $43,000 secured bond.

- Possession of a Deadly Weapon by Persons Under 18 (Felony)

The 17-year-old from Delmar, Maryland was charged with the following and committed to Stevenson House Detention Center on a $48,100 secured bond.
