Millsboro Drug and Weapons Arrest

MILLSBORO, DE - The Delaware State Police have arrested two men on various drug and weapon offenses following a traffic stop Tuesday.

According to police, Troopers saw a car ignore a stop sign at Dupont Boulevard and W. Monroe Street around 4 p.m. on December 5th. Officers pulled the car over and approached the suspects. During the conversation with the two occupants, police say they saw the handle of a handgun sticking out of one of the suspect’s jacket pockets. Police then asked the two to exit the vehicle and arrested them without incident.

Further search of the vehicle allegedly revealed almost 38 grams of crack cocaine, nearly 103 grams of cocaine, 117 bags of heroin, over $1,000 in suspected drug proceeds, and a 9mm handgun.

The two suspects, identified as Jervis Cox, 30, of Bridgeville, and Devantay Clanton, 24, of Ellendale, have been charged with the following crimes:

Clanton:

-Possession with Intent to Deliver Controlled Substance- 3 counts (Felony)

-Conspiracy Second Degree (Felony)

-Possession of Controlled/Counterfeit Substance- 3 counts

-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Cox:

-Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)

-Possession with Intent to Deliver Controlled Substance Tier 3- 2 counts (Felony)

-Possession of Controlled Substance Tier 3 (Felony)

-Possession of Firearm if Previously Convicted of a Violent Felony (Felony)

-Possession of Firearm/Ammunition by Person Prohibited (Felony)

-Possession with Intent to Deliver Controlled Substance- 3 counts (Felony)

-Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Felony)

-Conspiracy Second Degree (Felony)

-Possession of Controlled/Counterfeit Substance

-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

-Traffic-related offenses

Both were taken to Sussex Correctional Institution, Cox on $169,050 cash bond and Clanton on $23,500.
