Talbot County Emergency Services

EASTON, MD - Talbot County Emergency Services announced both the temporary westbound and eastbound closure of Ocean Gateway in Easton Wednesday morning.

UPDATE: Emergency Services tells WBOC the leak occurred at a local business. It has been addressed and the roadway is open, according to Talbot County officials.

On October 18th, just after 10:30 a.m., the Emergency Services said Rt. 50 was closed to all traffic from Idlewild Avenue to Dutchman’s Lane.

Drivers on Idelwild Avenue are unable to access Rt. 50 and were being detoured.

Information is limited at this time, but the Easton Fire Department also confirmed to WBOC the closure was due to a gas leak. Emergency Services says the Fire Department was on scene.

Talbot County Emergency Services advised people to avoid the area and follow all detours.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information is released.
