Deadly Crash

WORCESTER CO. - There was a deadly car crash on Route 13 southbound at the Maryland-Virginia border in Worcester County on Tuesday, according to Maryland State Police.

According to MSP, troopers responded to southbound Rt. 13 at the intersection of Holland Road at about 3 p.m. on June 30 on reports of a two-vehicle crash. The ensuing investigation revealed that a Jeep Grand Cherokee was travelling east on Holland Road when it attempted to cross the Rt. 13 intersection. While crossing, the Jeep was struck by a Toyota Venza, according to police.

The driver of the Jeep, 53-year-old David Loveland of Marion Station, was killed in the crash. The driver and passenger of the Toyota, a 37-year-old woman and 34-year-old man, were taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment. 

Lanes were closed for more than three hours as police conducted a crash investigation. That investigation remains ongoing, according to MSP.
