SALISBURY, Md. - Wicomico County Executive Julie Giordano denied allegations Wednesday involving the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office and said she would not allow what she called lies to go unanswered.
Giordano made remarks Wednesday morning to the press, where she denied allegations that she sent inappropriate photos to sheriff’s deputies. She said the alleged photos have never been produced because they do not exist.
“These allegations are false,” Giordano said. “The alleged photographs have never been produced because they do not exist. And as county executive, I have never sent inappropriate photographs to a deputy or to anybody else.”
Giordano said the allegations have followed her for years and that her answer has not changed.
“That is the truth,” Giordano said. “It was the truth three years ago. It was the truth today. And guess what? It’ll still be the truth tomorrow.”
The remarks came after a report out of Baltimore raised questions about a disputed document connected to the matter. Giordano did not take questions from reporters after her statement.
WBOC reached out to Sheriff Mike Lewis for comment Wednesday but did not receive a response.
WBOC also previously sought records related to the matter. In October 2024, WBOC filed a Maryland Public Information Act request seeking written and digital correspondence between the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office and the Wicomico County Executive’s Office related to allegations involving a sheriff’s deputy and pornographic images of the county executive.
The sheriff’s office denied that request later that month, citing investigatory records and personal privacy exemptions. In the denial, the sheriff’s office said disclosure would be contrary to the public interest and would result in an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy.
The central issue remains whether records tied to the matter will be released publicly.
As of Wednesday, no additional records had been released to WBOC.
