The annual Chincoteague Pony Beach Walk took place along the coast of Assateague Island, VA, on Monday morning. The event takes place ahead of the 100th Chincoteague Pony Swim, scheduled for Wednesday.
Officials counted 79 horses on the island, up from 73 a year prior, and closer to the population goal range of 80 to 100.
