DOVER, Del.- NASCAR fans are taking over Dover, despite the inclement weather.

NASCAR is returning to Dover next month and so are the fans. Monday, Dover International Speedway announced that for the first time since 2019 fans will be allowed in the stands. Michael Tatoian, President & CEO of Dover International Speedway, said that they expect somewhere between 15,000 and 20,000 spectators on race weekend next month.
Cars were moving efficiently through Dover International Speedway Wednesday, but they were not in line for race parking.
They are all waiting for their second COVID-19 vaccine.
People who received their first COVID vaccine during state events last month will have the opportunity to get their second vaccine starting Sunday during a six day event at Dover International Speedway. The speedway was quiet Friday except for a few snow crews working to remove snow from the parking lot in preparation for the thousands of cars that will drive though the vaccination event.
Delaware's Division of Public Health says about 34,000 second doses have been administered across the state. The state announced a vaccination center will open on Saturday at the Dover International Speedway. The state hopes to speed up the distribution process for second doses, but some people are worried they won't get an appointment at these state-run events.
