The Maryland Department of Agriculture announced areas to receive aerial spray treatments beginning tomorrow to reduce the adult mosquito population in Somerset County.
SMITH ISLAND, Md. -- On August 4th of last year, a tornado swept through Ewell and Rhodes Point. It left behind destruction in the form of scattered debris, torn off roofs, broken windows and in the worst case, a destroyed home.
SMITH ISLAND, Md. -- On Friday, July 14th, $15,000 was donated to help pay volunteers at the Smith Island Dental Clinic in Rhodes Point. It is the most recent support in a four year long effort to bring quality dental care to island neighbors.

On Monday, Smith Island residents continued assessing the destruction from an F1 tornado that struck the island last Thursday, and they found more damage than they initially anticipated.
Essential items and donations are being sent over to Smith Island after an F-1 tornado hit Rhodes Point and Ewell on Thursday, August 4th. So far, the GoFundMe page has raised over $100,000, and people have sent water bottles, trash bags, clothes, and more to help out the locals.
