Snow Hill leaders are considering the future of two town-owned properties with very different histories but a similar goal: putting them back into private hands in hopes of bringing new life to the town.

Snow Hill officials say a proposed Summerfield annexation is still in the earliest stages, but it is already prompting questions about how future growth could affect town services, infrastructure and housing needs.

Snow Hill leaders and Maryland Secretary of Planning Rebecca Flora gathered with community members Wednesday night to launch work on a new comprehensive plan, the first full update since 2010. Officials say the document will guide decisions on growth, housing, transportation and the local economy over the next decade.
