OCEAN CITY, Md. -- Hurricane Erin remained offshore Thursday, but its effects were on full display along the Ocean City coastline as powerful winds and massive waves drew both concern and curiosity.
WORCESTER COUNTY, Md. -- On Tuesday morning, Assateague Island National Seashore and Ocean City closed public access to the ocean. Hurricane Erin isn't expected to make landfall, but the Category 2 storm is causing life-threatening rip currents off our coast.
Hurricane Erin is churning closer to Delmarva’s waters, as the beaches already are seeing large waves and strong rip currents. 'Erin' is forecasted to make those conditions even worse, putting the spotlight on coastal Delaware's storm resiliency.
Strong rip currents continue to churn along Delmarva’s coast, prompting elevated warnings from beach patrols and the National Weather Service.
The body of the 17 year old that went missing Wednesday was recovered from the water early this afternoon at 13th Street Beach. Chad Croyle, who is on vacation with his family was also at that beach.
