Maryland State Police have arrested a man on 94 counts of child pornography-related offenses in Dorchester County.

Verizon customers across the country are reporting service outages on Wednesday as the nation’s largest wireless carrier works to fix the issue.

BIVALVE, Md. -- For years, Verizon customers in Bivalve have grown used to dropped calls, dead zones and the occasional scramble around the house to find a single bar of service. But that changed this week with the activation of a new Verizon 5G tower, a long-awaited upgrade that neighbors say is already making a noticeable difference.

Representatives from Verizon told WBOC the new cellphone tower along Front Street is now operational. The tower was built to combat a long-standing dead zone in the area.

A new 140-foot cellphone tower has gone up along Front Street. The project has been in the works for a few years, and had received some push back from neighbors in the past. 

Ahead of the fall music festivals, Ocean City officials are working to have new small cell phone towers installed in the busy areas of the beach town. The town is working with the cell companies AT&T and Verizon to make this change.

Cell service improvements are on the horizon for western Wicomico County after the County Council approved a lease agreement this week to allow Verizon Wireless to install a new communications tower in the Bivalve area.
