We start this morning with a feel of summer to the air as the humidity has gone up overnight and we wake up to temperatures in the 60s and 70s across the region. With the wind out of the south and southwest our temperatures will be pushed back into the 80s. The cold front looks to be lagging behind compared to what it looked like a couple of days ago. This doesn’t mean that our chances for a few showers and storms will not be there for this evening, but the chance is more of a pop-up chance and more disorganized. It isn’t a guarantee that it will rain in your neighborhood, but do know we could be dealing with a few storms that could produce some heavy rain, lightning, and some strong gusty winds.

In fact, the front is lagging even more to our west in this morning’s runs of the models that my confidence of getting a dry day on Saturday is going up. The chance of a few spotty showers and storms is still not out of the question, but the organized storm chances look to sit out to our west for Saturday. Temperatures soar again into the 80s across the area on Saturday with a party to mostly sunny afternoon. Sunday will bring a chance of some rain showers by the afternoon and evening as the front and upper-level low finally begin to arrive and will stick around for a few days.

There is more support for a low pressure cutting off right over the top of Delmarva and will keep us unsettled with rain chances for a few days with the wind in off the Atlantic. This will lock our temperatures in the 60s and 70s through Wednesday with on and off rain chances and we really won’t have to worry about a drought for a while on Delmarva.
