As we wake up this morning, we still have lingering rain and even the possibility of some light snow in places across Delmarva. The farther north and west you live, the better chance you have of seeing the transition to a period of light snow over the next couple of hours. It won’t accumulate on the roads, but we could pick up a quick dusting to 1” of snow on the grassy surfaces by the time it wraps up here by 8am. It will be a windy and chilly day with temperatures in the 40s this afternoon. As the wind gusts at times over 30-40 mph early, our wind chill values will be in the low 30s all day long with a mix of sun and clouds.
The wind settles down overnight tonight and will lead to temperatures falling into the 20s by tomorrow morning. With lots of sunshine, temperatures should rebound into the mid to upper 40s. A weak front with limited moisture clears the area on Wednesday and will lead to a cooldown for Thursday with highs only in the mid 40s for highs. The weekend forecast looks to be dry for now with temperatures warming nicely into the 50s with a good amount of sunshine. There is one model trying to hint at the storm passing to our south turning and bringing a rain chance for us on Sunday, but at the moment…we will go with the majority that keeps us on the dry side.
