FORECAST DISCUSSION
Normal high: 67°F. Normal low: 45°F.
The nor’easter we’ve been talking about over the past week became Subtropical Storm Josephine on Wednesday evening.
Josephine, which has brought breezy conditions, beach erosion and coastal flooding, is now moving northeast out to sea. However, elevated tidal levels will continue through Friday, with minor to locally moderate tidal flooding possible.
Conditions will remain dry, with mostly sunny skies expected late this week into the weekend.
Winds will gradually relax as cool high pressure dominates the Mid-Atlantic. Despite the sunshine, temperatures will remain on the cool side, with highs around 60 degrees Friday and Saturday. With lighter winds and low humidity, temperatures could also dip into the chilly range overnight, so we’ll continue to monitor the potential for frost Saturday and Sunday mornings, especially across interior portions of Delmarva.
Sunny skies and seasonable temperatures will continue into early next week.
A frontal system will bring more clouds to Delmarva Wednesday into Thursday, but measurable rainfall is not expected over the coming week or two.
Looking at the long-range forecast, temperatures are expected to be above normal, with near-normal precipitation from October 29th through November 4th.
