FORECAST DISCUSSION

Normal high: 51°F. Normal low: 31°F.

A cold front will swing across Delmarva Thursday evening. This front doesn't have a whole lot of moisture to work with, but expect scattered showers, and a possible rumble of thunder through mid to late evening.

After the front clears Delmarva early Friday morning, skies will quickly clear and winds will shift to the northwest and become gusty. It will be a cooler, but seasonable and sunny last day of February.

Another cold, but dry, front will approach on Saturday. Southwest winds ahead of the front will push temperatures again well into the 60s. Then we'll be chilly for Sunday and Monday, with afternoon highs only in the upper 30s and low 40s with a gusty northwest wind.

We'll see a return of seasonably mild temperatures by Tuesday before 60s come back on Wednesday ahead of our next weather-maker. A strong cold front will cross Delmarva late Wednesday. Guidance is suggesting this front will have more moisture to work with, so we're expecting more widespread rain and possibly thunderstorms. The timing is still not clear, but the best guess will be Wednesday afternoon and evening.

In the long range, temperatures are expected to average near normal, and precipitation above normal for March 6 - March 12.
