FORECAST DISCUSSION
Normal high: 75°F. Normal low: 54°F.
Another heat wave has arrived on Delmarva, bringing lots of sunshine and summer-like heat to the peninsula.
The heat will stick around for Tuesday and Wednesday as a Bermuda high supplements an upper ridge over the eastern United States. Expect highs in the mid 90s inland, and 80s at the coast both Tuesday and Wednesday. With dry conditions and low humidity, the heat index should not be an issue.
As the Bermuda high retreats to the east on Wednesday, a cold front will sink down from the north, and bring scattered shower and thunderstorm chances Wednesday afternoon and evening.
The front will sink to just south of Delmarva on Thursday, and will stay there through the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. Temperatures will be much cooler on Thursday, only in the 60s for highs, and will stay on the cooler side through at least Friday.
An unsettled pattern will bring mainly cloudy skies, and on-and-off showers and thunder Thursday through at least Sunday.
In the long range, temperatures are expected to average above normal, and precipitation above normal for May 25 - May 31.
