SYNOPSIS: More rain is on the way tonight as a low pressure system moves across the region. Clouds will linger tomorrow, but skies should clear slowly late in the day as drier air arrives. Colder air will return for the weekend.

Tonight: More rain late. Rainfall of 0.5 to 1 inch. Remaining mild. Low 50° Wind: SE 6-12 mph.
Thursday: Cloudy early then slow clearing after 1 PM. Still mild. High 57-58°. Beaches 55°. Wind: W 6-12 mph.
Thursday Night: Partly cloudy. Low 43° Wind: SW 5-11 mph.
Friday: Partly sunny, and slightly cooler. High 54°. Beaches 54°. Wind: W/SW 7-14 mph.
Forecast Discussion:
Skies will be cloudy tonight, and more rain will move through as a low pressure system moves by in the Atlantic. Look for rainfall from 0.5 to 1 inch by daybreak. It will stay mild with temps. dropping only to 50°. This is higher than our average high temp. for late December! Winds will be from the south at 5-12 mph.
The low pressure will move slowly east and bring a little drier air by later Thursday. Skies will clear slowly though due to an upper level trough over the region. Look for a west breeze at 6-12 mph in the afternoon. It will stay very mild with temps. near 58 degrees by 2 PM. Look for cooler air to arrive in the evening and by Friday morning the temps. will be in the lower 40's.
Friday will be partly cloudy with SW to west winds at 7-14 mph in the afternoon. It will stay quite mild with temps. near 54 degrees by 2 PM. Cooler air will arrive in the evening with temperatures dipping to 38° by daybreak on Saturday.
In the long range: Colder air will arrive Saturday with clearing skies. Look for afternoon temps. near 48° Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Morning lows will dip to near freezing Sunday, and on Monday. New Year's Day looks chilly with temps. reaching 48° in the afternoon. It will be a few degrees cooler still on Tuesday.
