Finally this amazing stretch of weather that reminded us more of summer days than spooky nights ahead will come to an end as we start the workweek this week. The cold front that ends it all sits to our north this morning and will be slowly coming to the south and begin to push showers into the region by the time we get to this evening and tonight. It won’t be raining the entire time, but we will need an umbrella handy as we wake up by Tuesday morning as these showers will linger across the area. It will still be a warm day with highs in the 70s and 80s before the front reaches us and the wind will start to pick up throughout the day ahead of the front. We could see some wind gusts over 25-30+ mph by Tuesday morning.
Tuesday will bring another day of scattered showers as the front just lingers over the top of Delmarva and keeps things unsettled for much of the day. We will be looking for a new area of low pressure development along the front that will increase the rain shield into the afternoon and evening hours of Halloween. Good news is that this storm should be out of here by the time we wake up on Wednesday morning. Wednesday will be a chilly day with temperatures only in the 50s with a breeze that will make things feel even cooler. A cold morning is ahead for Thursday where we could see a widespread freeze for the first time this season as temperatures should fall to the freezing mark, if not below freezing in our coolest communities.
High pressure settles into control of the forecast for the rest of the week and the start of the weekend with a nice gradual warming trend. We should see highs back into the 60s and 70s by Saturday and Sunday before another little clipper system brings a few showers into the forecast to end the weekend.
