FORECAST DISCUSSION

Normal high: 88°F. Normal low: 68°F.

After a quiet Wednesday, things turn unsettled once again as we look ahead to the end of the work week.

Expect quiet weather to continue Wednesday night into early Thursday. Skies will be partly cloudy with Thursday morning lows in the upper 60s.

After a partly cloudy start, allowing afternoon highs to reach the upper 80s, a disturbance will trigger showers and thunderstorms, with the timing primarily in the late afternoon into the evening. With abundant heat and humidity, some of these storms could be severe, with damaging winds, frequent lightning, intense downpours, and small hail. All of Delmarva is under a Level 2 "Slight" threat for severe weather.

Showers could continue into the wee hours of Friday, but otherwise for the most part Friday is okay, with skies becoming mostly sunny by the afternoon.

Then another disturbance will bring another round of showers and thunderstorms Friday evening into early Saturday.

Sunday will be the better of the two weekend days, with partly cloudy skies and comfortable highs in the low to mid 80s, conditions that will continue into the beginning of the next work week.

In the long range, temperatures are expected to be above normal, and precipitation above normal for Jul 15 - Jul 21.

In the Tropics: There are no areas of development interest at this time.
