ACCOMACK CO., Va. - The Accomack County School Board has voted to reinstate two well-known novels into school curriculum, after a brief suspension following a parent complaint.
According to school board members, the board voted unanimously at a work session Tuesday night to put "To Kill A Mockingbird" and "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" back on the school shelves. The school board also announced it will reexamine its policy for books after receiving complaints about content.
The books were removed on Nov. 29, after a parent claimed she was concerned about some of the racial slurs found in the books.
