DELMAR, Md.- A Delmar, Md., man is facing attempted murder and related charges in connection with a 2019 shooting.
The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday that on Sept. 4, deputies responded to a home located at 33661 E. Line Road on Delmar's Maryland side in reference to a report of threat.
The Sheriff's Office said the deputies learned of an incident that had occurred in July of 2019 that involved a woman who had suffered a gunshot wound to her hand. The victim reported to deputies that her husband, Marion Marvin Gladden Jr., aka "Tinker," was the one who had shot her.
Deputies also learned that the victim’s grandson was present when the incident had taken place, according to the Sheriff's Office. It was also during that time that Gladden pointed the firearm at the grandson and forced him into a pickup truck, investigators said.
Investigators were able to locate and secure the firearm that Gladden was accused of having used in this incident.
Deputies did a check and found out that Gladden is prohibited from possession any firearm or ammunition due to previous convictions. Investigators were able to apply for and receive an arrest warrant for Gladden. Gladden was located and arrested on the following charges:
• Attempted 1st Degree Murder
• Attempted 2nd Degree Murder
• Assault 1st Degree
• Assault 2nd Degree
• Reckless Endangerment
• Firearm Use in the Commission of a Crime of Violence
• Kidnapping
• Possession of a Regulated Firearm with a Felony Conviction
• Illegal Possession of Ammunition
• Handgun in Vehicle
• Loaded Handgun in Vehicle
• Handgun on Person
