PRINCESS ANNE, Md.– Investigators will be on scene Thursday to determine what caused a fire that destroyed a playground at Greenwood Elementary School in Princess Anne on Wednesday night.
According to John Gaddis, superintendent of Somerset County schools, the fire was called in around 6:30 p.m. Firefighters were able to put it out without the fire spreading. However, Gaddis says the playground was destroyed.
Gaddis said the fire is a shame and it will be a long process to rebuild. He said there are a number of surveillance cameras that might be able to help determine how the fire started.
There were no reported injuries.
