GEORGETOWN, Del. - A Laurel man has pleaded guilty to illegally dumping trash on the side of Hastings Farm Road in Sussex County.
Officers with DNREC'S Environmental Crimes Unit reported the arrest of Robert A. Young Jr., 35, following a complaint they received of illegal dumping.
According to the department, the officers saw approximately six bags of household trash dumped on the side of the roadway.
Young was charged Wednesday with one count of causing or contributing to the disposal or discharge of solid waste materials.
Young was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 3 in Georgetown, where he pleaded guilty to one count of illegal dumping.
Young was ordered to pick up the trash and issued a $500 fine.
