Man Arrested for Verizon Store Burglary in Dover

DOVER, Del. -- The Dover Police Department has arrested a man for breaking into a Verizon Wireless store.

Police say 34-year-old Clifton Leight Jr. broke into the store on Bay Road around 4:48 Saturday morning after breaking the store windows to gain access. Once inside, police report Leight damaged the phone lines in an attempt to disable the store's alarm system and sprayed a fire extinguisher throughout the store. Police also reported Leight previously tried to break into a tattoo shop in the same shopping center, but was unsuccessful.

Leight has been charged with burglary in the third degree, two counts of criminal mischief, and trespass in the third degree. His mug shot and bond amount are currently unavailable.
