BALTIMORE (AP) - A Rockville man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for enticing underage girls to send him sexually explicit photos of themselves and threatening to post them online when they wanted to stop.
Twenty-one-year-old Marc Joseph Punzalan of Rockville was also ordered to register as a sex offender at sentencing Wednesday in federal court in Baltimore.
According to his plea agreement, Punzalan contacted four girls between the ages of 12 and 16 via social media and in chat rooms.
Prosecutors say Punzalan convinced the girls to send explicit photos. When the girls said they didn't want to keep sending such photos, Punzalan threatened to post the photos online or send them to the girls' families and friends.
