Man Struck by Bow Hunter's Arrow near Millsboro

MILLSBORO, Del.- Police with DNREC are investigating after a bow hunter's arrow struck and injured another hunter.

It happened just before 6 p.m. Thursday night on the edge of a farm field near Millsboro.

 

Police say a 54-year-old hunter in a tree stand shot an arrow from his compound bow that struck the 24-year-old victim on the ground about 30 yards away. The injured man was airlifted to Beebe Medical Center in Lewes by the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit. After he was stabilized, he was airlifted to a Maryland hospital, where he underwent surgery today.

 

No charges have been filed at this time, according to Sgt. John McDerby, Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police.
