HURLOCK, Md. - The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched down in Hurlock on Wednesday afternoon.
Small pieces of debris are strewn about Taylor Stylc's yard on Bobtown Road.
Her mailbox is gone from it's post. Taylor says she feels lucky.
"I'm actually very grateful because I would be so devastated if honestly anything happened to either one of us or my house, we would have no where to live so I'm honestly very very grateful for that, she said.
Mary Beth Claude, who captured the video used by the NWS to confirm the tornado, says this was a once in a lifetime experience.
"I just kept recording because this is one of the, I've always wanted to see a tornado and I saw the rain start to spin, so I thought I'm going to see the formation and the whole thing. So I just stayed out and I saw that it kept moving north so I thought okay it's been going north the whole time, I should be safe, and just kept recording," she said.
While Mary Beth was outside recording, her son Brent was inside hiding in the closet.
"My mom told me that there was a tornado warning and we had to get in the closet so I was a little worried, and we just kept watching the weather."
"I was praying that it didn't go and hit our house," he continued.
Other damage included a tree which fell into the road on Gravel Branch Road and an irrigation system twisted near Bobtown Road.
The National Weather Service is expected to be on the ground surveying the damage.
