Queen Anne's Co. Man Sentenced in Child Porn Case

Dennis Telak Jr.

STEVENSVILLE, Md. - A Stevensville man has been ordered to spend nine months behind bars on child pornography charges.

A Queen Anne’s County circuit court judge sentenced 32-year-old Dennis Telak Jr. on Tuesday to 10 years in prison with all but nine months suspended, a month and a half after he pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of child pornography.

According to the Upper Shore Region of the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division, police began to investigate Telak in November of 2015 when they were alerted to someone downloading known child pornography from the internet.

Investigators were able to pinpoint the home where the downloads were occurring and seized two computers from that home, one of which police said belonged to Telak. According to investigators, that computer contained several videos of child pornography. In an interview with police, Telak admitted to downloading the videos from peer-to-peer networks. He was charged with two counts of distribution of child pornography and 20 counts of possession of child pornography.

Telak pleaded guilty to two of the possession counts on Sept. 13., according to online court records. After his nine months in prison, he will be on probation for five years and have to register as a tier one sex offender.
