SALISBURY, Md. -- Following a number of reports of unregistered dirt bikes riding recklessly in the area, the Salisbury Police Department Safe Streets Team has launched an operation to locate the bikers responsible.

On Thursday evening, around 6 p.m., Safe Streets officers say they saw three bikers leave a home on the 700 block of Shiloh Street with unregistered dirt bikes. Officers report they followed the bikers and watched them commit several traffic violations and then attempted to stop them. Upon noticing the officers, police say the bikers fled at a high speed rate and were not pursued.

Officers continued to monitor the home on Shiloh Street where they spotted the riders before. When the bikers returned around 10:45 p.m., police served a search and seizure warrant for the home and recovered three dirt bikes, but were not able to arrest the bikers who fled before the police secured the perimeter of the home.

Police are still investigating the identities of the bikers; charges are pending. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Salisbury Police Department at (410) 548-3165.
