Snow Closes Nearly All Public School Systems in Mid-Atlantic

WASHINGTON (AP)- Snow has closed nearly every public school system in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Just one system - Garrett County in far western Maryland - opened Tuesday. Students there had a two-hour delay following the storm. The National Weather Service reported unofficial snowfall amounts of 2 and 3 inches Tuesday morning at sites in the county.

Maryland's 23 other public school systems, all of 19 Delaware's, the District of Columbia public schools and systems in northern Virginia were all closed for the day.
