ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. - A Hispanic family in Accomack county is receiving help from the community after losing their mobile home to a fire.
Bloxom Fire Company and other units responded to the fire Saturday afternoon authorities confirmed to WRDE.
The displaced family says thanks to a close relative they are able to find temporary shelter.
Rudy Velasquez Hernandez says the Saint Peter The Apostle Catholic Church has helped provide food, clothes, and blankets but that the family of four is still in need.
The father of two adds he is grateful for the communities support during these difficult times.
"I give thanks to God that we are good. We can replace the material things but what's important is that my family OK and nothing happened to us," said Velasquez Hernandez.
The cause of the fire is still not confirmed. No one was reported to be in the home or harmed during the incident.
Velasquez Hernandez tells WRDE that those interested in helping him and his family can contact the church to make donations.
